Can I watch my child’s class every week?
No, we do not allow parents to watch class each week because of the distraction it creates for the dancers. We want you to get the most for the tuition you’re paying which means keeping the students focused on class. Once in each semester we have a parent visit week where we open all classes up for parents to sit in and watch.
Why are costume payments due so early in the year?
Costume payments are due in November for a number of reasons:
- We really do order costumes this early in the year because they take months to make.
- After costumes arrive we need ample time to check fit on each dancer and exchange any costumes that don’t fit or came to us damaged. The turn around time on exchanges can be 6-8 weeks during the busy season for costume companies.
- Picture Day is in early May and we need to make sure that all of the above can happen in time for pictures.
Why do I have to buy tickets to the recital?
The cost of producing a recital and renting a theater is very high but it is an essential part of our program as it is the culmination of the dancers’ hard work. Because every family has a different number of people in attendance we don’t feel it would be fair to build the cost of recital into tuition by distributing it evenly across all students.
